Longhorns

Y.O. Ranch. Founded in 1880 by Captain Charles Schreiner with profits from driving 300,000 head of longhorns "Up the Trail" to Dodge City, the Y.O., with its motto being: Y.O. Ranch, Another Name for Texas, has a strong connection with Texas Longhorn cattle.
Today, the Y.O. maintains a herd of more than 1,000 registered Longhorns — one of the largest herds in the world. When Charlie Schreiner III took the reins in the early 1950s, he reached back into history to further diversify the ranch by establishing a registry for Texas Longhorns and bringing the legendary breed back from the brink of extinction.
Trail Drives
If you think it would be fun for your group to "live the cowboy life" for a little while, then we'd like to organize a custom longhorn trail drive for you. Trail drives from a half day to two days for a minimum of 8 people can be arranged. It's a great family or corporate bonding experience that connects you to the authentic heritage of the American West.
Registered Herd
The Y.O. Ranch registered Longhorn herd is one of the most respected in the world. Animals from the Y.O. herd have been sold to ranches and breeders across the United States and internationally. Annual auctions held on the ranch give buyers the opportunity to acquire top-quality registered Texas Longhorns directly from the source.
An Incomparable Community
The Schreiner Family has designated for sale beautiful parts of the Y.O. Ranch containing over 10,000 acres. These tracts range in size from 43 to 80 acres. All have deeded access and are within the high fence of the Y.O. Throughout this beautiful rolling hill country, exotics and trophy whitetails roam freely. As a Y.O. land owner, you'll have many V.I.P. opportunities to hunt the Y.O. and to purchase Texas Longhorns and additional exotic game through annual auctions held on the ranch.
